Vote Climate U.S. PAC Mission and Approach

Our Mission

Vote Climate U.S. PAC works to elect candidates to eliminate all human-made, greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in order to slow climate change and related weather extremes. Only ZERO greenhouse gas emissions will lead to a slow reduction in the atmosphere over the next century. Vote Climate U.S. PAC’s call to eliminate all human-made CO2 and methane emissions surpasses that of a “net-zero” carbon emission or a “carbon neutral” economy by 2050, which we do not believe goes far enough toward the elimination of fossil fuels. Vote Climate U.S. PAC believes that we must keep fossil fuels in the ground for a just, clean energy economy. Vote Climate U.S. PAC works to elect candidates who believe in getting off fossil fuels, transitioning to clean, renewable, energy and reducing carbon pollution by putting a fee on carbon, in order to slow climate change and related weather extremes. Donate now.

Our Approach

While our hope for the future is bright, scientists say we are facing an emergency with climate change. Our political leaders are not acting. That is why America must elect climate-action candidates on the state and national levels. Our ultimate goal of reducing greenhouse gases can be mostly accomplished by passing a federal carbon fee, the single, most critical step we can take toward addressing climate change. It starts with electing the candidates to get it done. Donate now.

Voter’s Guide

There has never been anything like our Voter’s Guide!! In 2018, Vote Climate U.S. PAC developed a first-of-its-kind, national, climate change Voter’s Guide, giving every incumbent and challenger for a seat in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate a – Climate Calculation – a score ranging from Climate Hero to Climate Zero for Americans to take to the polls in November to vote climate.

On Earth Day, April 22, 2022, Vote Climate U.S. PAC added the most critical legislators from swing states nationwide to our voter guide, courtesy of Climate Cabinet Action’s Climate Scorecard, whose research is now available on our website under Voter’s Guide State Government.

In 2022 for the first time, voters will also be able to see if a candidate supports Roe v. Wade, the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion, which was overturned on June 24, 2022. Reproductive and climate justice are inexorably linked. Unwanted pregnancies and births stress the environment, driving climate change and related weather extremes. So #VoteClimate and #VoteChoice with the same Voter’s Guide.

Vote Climate U.S. PAC is the only website in the country to provide a climate change Voter’s Guide for candidates for Statehouses (partial, no indication of support for Roe.), incumbent, challenger, and open-seat candidates for GovernorsU.S. House, U.S. Senate and U.S. President (in presidential years) all in one convenient, user friendly site, making it an unprecedented resource. Climate Heroes, Zeroes, Priority and Endorsed Candidates

Our approach focuses on our national Voter’s Guide which named Climate Heroes and Climate Zeroes and analyzed the electoral state of the Climate in America Best-to-Worst, candidate-by-candidate, the massive partisan divide and the partisan divide region-by-region. Our Voter’s Guide identified the most critical, priority climate races in the country.

Vote Climate U.S. PAC continues to identify candidates for priority support. We produced ads and make social media posts in targeted districts to help elect climate-action candidates. We endorsed leaders in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate in recognition of their leadership. Read on for more details and to see some of our ads we have used, including Holy Bleep Mabel and Bliss or This. Donate now.

Holy BLEEP Mabel

Holy BLEEP Mabel featured 2, 30-second, TV ads staring the quirky couple, Mabel and Manny, who find themselves in various Holy BLEEP Mabel moments as they experience climate-related, weather extremes like floods and wildfires in their own backyard. These ads reached almost 1.2 million people in priority districts with astonishing video-view rates between 70-80%.

Bliss or This was a meme campaign and slide show which contrasts a positive future where we take political action on climate change with a bleak future where we do not. It reached almost 63,000 people with an amazing view rate of almost 70%.

Vote Climate U.S. PAC’s National and Statewide Voter’s Guide

Vote Climate U.S. PAC’s priority project is our statewide, gubernatorial, and national Voter’s Guide that will help you, your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to Vote Climate in the mid-term elections. This is a unique Voter’s guide since we go beyond votes to assess position, leadership and putting a fee on carbon for our national incumbents and challengers. We need you help to promote our Voter’s Guide. Donate now.

Targeting Priority Candidates

Vote Climate U.S. PAC identifies incumbents and challengers for priority support in Governor’s races and in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate. We look for Climate Heroes and Zeroes, priority and endorsed candidates in our Voter’s Guide to assess who to vote for and who to oppose in the midterm elections.

Back in 2016, we ran our Holy BLEEP Mabel series and our Bliss or This campaign in a paid, social media campaign, in priority districts to raise the issue of climate change and our priority candidate’s profiles. These ads reached almost well over 1.26 million voters in priority districts. We need you help to do it again. Donate now.

Endorsed Candidates

By using our Voter’s Guide, voters can choose between Endorsed Candidates, Climate Heroes, Climate Zeroes and everything in between, on the state and national levels. They can vote OUT Zeroes and other climate losers, those who do not support climate-action. With you donation, we hope to raise more funds to highlight Endorsed Candidates, Climate Heroes and Priority Candidates in critical districts that can make the difference for climate action. Donate now.

Ads

The cost to produce ads is astronomical, but they reach voters. With you help, we can replicate our success from previous elections and reach well over 1 million, targeted voters. We can produce ads and make social media buys in priority districts to elect Climate Heroes and defeat Climate Zeroes and those who will not take climate-action, similar to our super-successful, Holy BLEEP Mabel series. We can’t do it without you. Donate now.
